Busker Carnivals are a hive of excitement, from carnival rides, food and the costumed characters of the buskers themselves these are a fantastic family event. Buskers travel the world performing at shows, carnivals and events as their primary source of income. Performing feats of strength, magic and many other amazing acts these performers amaze the crowds in an attempt to earn as much money as they can. As they say regularly " your donation tells us how much you like what we do".
It is just my luck that one of these well known carnivals takes place only a 2 minute walk away in Uptown Waterloo, Ontario. A full parking lot and park area is taken up by this event and provides a unique photo opportunity. Lets face it how often do you get to take photos of performances such as jugglers, sword swallowers, gymnasts and balancing acts all in one place. Acts throughout the day and night provided an endless amount of photography opportunity and entertainment at the same time.
When you sit back and watch the happenings around, you realize how different the lives of these people must be. Forever on the road, practicing tricks and routines all in preparation for their next crowd of people to perform for and amaze.
The alter in Montreal's Notre Dame Basilica is absolutely breathtaking. The story it tells, the life it shows and the workmanship it entailed can not be explained in words. The colours that radiate around the large expanse, grab your attention immediately focusing your eyes on the huge, ornate alter but it doesn't take long to realize the story that it tells. Statues, figurines and reliefs tell a story of life, death and sacrifice. Religious person or not, standing in front of this amazing place can do nothing but make you think.
Every night in Florida as the tide recedes there is a flurry of activity on the beach. All kinds of shells begin to appear from the sand as if they are trying to suck in the last rays of sunshine. You would never know that all these shelled creatures were buried in the sand all day just waiting for this time to bask in the setting sun and replenish their energy.
Located in the Hilton Falls Conservation area on the Niagara Escarpment opposite Glen Eden Ski club. With only a nominal entry fee to enter the park which all goes back to management it is well worth the money. After a short hike of about 2.5km you come upon the waterfall area and this amazing waterfall in the middle of the forest. An awesome setting that you would never know was there, not even when looking on Google Earth.
